Greek Alphabet Primer
This course offers a creative approach to learning the Greek Alphabet. Children will enjoy engaging with each of the 24 letters in the following ways:
- Learning the modern pronunciation (used in the Orthodox church)
- "Illuminating" letters with colorful pictures
- Practicing Greek penmanship with copy work
- Reading the story of a saint with a Greek name
- Coloring an icon
Downloads of printable copy work pages and coloring pages are included in your purchase, as well as a recording of the author singing "The Greek Alphabet Song."
These materials are recommended for children who are already fluent readers in English (ages 8 and up,) but younger siblings will enjoy coloring and listening to stories as well.
Mallory Stripling, who is both the author and illustrator for this primer, is a Greek instructor at St. Raphael Classical School. She is a home school alumna, mom of three, and has been teaching Greek to Orthodox students since 2011. We are very privileged to be publishing her beautiful work.
